Ingredients
For the Octopus Appetizer:
- 1 pack of cooked octopus tentacles, size M (3.5-7.7 oz / 100-220 g)
- 1.3 lbs (600 g) potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 6.3 fl oz (180 ml) heavy cream
- Salt, to taste
For the Smoked Paprika Oil:
- 3.5 tbsp (50 ml) olive oil
- 1 tsp smoked paprika

Instructions
1. Prepare the Creamy Potato Base:
Place the chopped potatoes in a pot with salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15 minutes, or until tender. Drain the potatoes and mash them until smooth. Add the heavy cream and mix well to achieve a creamy consistency. Adjust salt to taste.
Time: 20 minutes
2. Make the Smoked Paprika Oil:
Heat the olive oil in a small pan over medium heat. Remove from the heat and stir in the smoked paprika. Let it infuse for a few minutes. For a smoother consistency, strain the oil before using. Time: 5 minutes
3. Sear the Octopus:
Cut the cooked octopus tentacles into bite-sized pieces. Heat a pan over medium-high heat and sear the octopus for 2-3 minutes per side until slightly crispy. Time: 5 minutes
4. Assemble the Appetizer:
In small glass cups or serving dishes, place a generous layer of the creamy potato base. Arrange the seared octopus pieces on top. Drizzle with smoked paprika oil for added flavor and presentation. Time: 5 minutes
